Photo of the Day 27th August 2023

Side view of a twin engined jet airliner flying from left to right and slightly away from the camera at a low altitude, with it's flaps deployed from behind the wings and the landing gear extended, suggesting it is about to land. The plane has a mostly white body, with the upper forward fuselage being a deep blue. There are large, light blue "bmi" titles on the forward fuselage, covering the passenger cabin windows, with smaller, white "BritishMidland" titles above. The tail has a modified Union Flag, in light blue and white on the bottom half, and dark blue and light blue on the top half, with white "bmi" titles across the middle. The engine pods are white, with a diagonal red band running over the top of the front. The registration "G-BVZH" is prominent on the rear fuselage, just aft of the rear door. Behind the plane, the sky is a flat grey.

Side view of a twin engined jet airliner with the engines mounted on the rear fuselage, taxiing from right to left. The plane is mostly white, with a grey belly and wings, and a thick blue stripe running along the body from the nose, covering the cabin windows. There are blue "Aeroflot" titles in Cyrillic on the upper middle fuselage. The tail is white, with the Russian flag (equal white, blue, and red horizontal bands) at the top. In the background, a large expanse of apron is edged by grass, beyond which is a collection of low, temporary buildings, with trees lining the rear.

Side view of a twin propellor-engined light aircraft parked facing to the left. The plane is mostly dark blue, with a light grey upper fuselage, and red "ORDNANCE SURVEY" on the upper fuselage. The tail has large grey diagonal "GEONEX" titles, with very pale grey "AERIAL SURVEYS" titles below that. The registration "G-BFDN" is on the lower rear fuselage in grey. In the background, a couple of other light aircraft can be seen, along with an expanse of grass running off into the distance, with some houses on the skyline on the lef of the frame. The sky itself is a flat grey.
