Photo of the Day 7th November 2023

Rear view of a 4 propellor-engined airliner taxiing away from the camera and slightly to the right. The plane is mostly white, with a red and blue stripe separating that from the blue belly. There are red "British Air Ferries" on the upper forward fuselage, and the registration "G-CSZB" on the lower rear fuselage in white. In the background, grey apron leads up to grass, which fills the rest of the frame.

Side view of a twin engined jet airliner taxiing from left to right. The plane is mostly white, with an orange and gold stripe running along the body, covering the cabin windows, before sweeping up in to the tail. There are "EgyptAir" titles on the upper fuselage, in both English and Arabic in an orange font, on either side of an Egyptian flag, and the registration "SU-GBL" on the upper rear fuselage, also in orange. The tail has a golden circle overlaid on the orange and gold stripe, containing the head of an orange and blue bird (actually the ancient Egyptian God Horus) in the middle. In the background, blue metal barriers surround a large patch of concrete with several vehicles driving around inside, beyond which grass leads off into the distance, with a large grey cargo plane in front of a light brown hangar, with trees beyond that, slowly vanishing in to mist.

The tail is red, with the white outline of a circle, with a white letter "N" overlaid i the top right, and a white triangle pointing to the NorthWest in the top left. In the background, black taxiways fill most of the frame, with grass beyond that leading to trees in the distance, slowly vanishing in to mist.

The plane is mostly white, with a pair of triangle on the tail, one blue, the other, red, the latter partially covering the former, with an yellow sunburst overlaid on the blue triangle, peeking out from bahind the red. In the background, some construction equipment and a couple of other planes are vaguely discernable in the distance, having been all but swallowed up by fog.

The plane is mostly grey, with a silver belly, and a blue, white, and red stripe running along the body. There are a pair of capital letter "A"s on the tail, one red, one blue, with a stylised image of a blue stooping eagle between them. The tail has white "Virgin" titles in a pseudo-handwritten font, and the letters "OM" in white at the tip. In the background, a large blue-grey hangar and a tall grey tower are visible under the planes fuselage on the lower left of the frame, with a white plane with a grey tail on the lower right. Above this plane, the sky is filled with a vivid blue sky.

This photo is proof that we do, on occasion, get good weather here in Manchester, although when it does happen, everyone wonders what the bright orange thing in the sky is.
