Photo of the Day 28th November 2024.

Side view of a white, high-winged, 4 propellor-engined cargo plane being towed from left to right by a low-slung blue truck. The plane has a grey belly, with a blue and red stripe running along the body, and "HeavyLift" titles on the forward fuselage in red and blue. The tail is red, with a large white letter "H" in the middle, with a massive blue drop-shadow coming down and to the right. There is a door with a built-in air-stair open on the lower right side of the fuselage, just aft of the nose-wheel. The white tails of several twin propellor-engined airliners can be seen in the background, surrounded by prefabricated buildings, cars, and trees. Early morning mist lingers over the background.

The pair of TransAir Cambodia HS748’s in the background should help narrow this down, but not by much – they were there a long time!

Side view of a white, 3 engined jet cargo plane flying from left to right at a very low altitude, just metres above a runway. Flaps are extended from behind the planes wings, the undercarriage is extended, and the nose is raised sharply, suggesting it has just taken off. The plane has a grey belly, and blue "Lufthansa Cargo" titles on the upper forward fuselage. The tail is blue, with the centre engine running through it, and a yellow circle containing a stylised flying bird on the upper section. Damp air is causing a layer of cloud to form in the engine inlets, and over the wings. Under the plane, green grass runs up to trees in the distance. Grey sky fills the rest of the frame.

Side view of a white, twin engined cargo plane moving from left to right on a runway, with a light on the nosewheel leg shining brightly, and the red beacon on top of the forward fuselage blinking. There are large purple and red "FedEx" titles on the side of the forward fuselage, with smaller purple "Express" titles below that, a logo repeated on the white engines slung under the wings. The registration "N916FD" is on the upper rear fuselage in black. The rear fuselage and tail is purple, with white and red "FedEx" titles on the tail. Grass fills most of the foreground, with more grass in the background leading up to trees in the distance, under grey skies.
