Side view of a high-winged, twin engined jet airliner parked facing to the left on a black runway. The plane is largely white, with a twisted red and blue ribbon on the upper forward fuselage, just aft of the cockpit, and dark blue "British Airways" titles on the lower fuselage, below the wings. The black registration "OY-NCM" is on the side of the rear fuselage, just aft of the rear cabin door. The belly is dark blue, as are the engine pods hanging under the wings. The tail is also white, with diagonal red, blue, and white bands that come to a point part way up the front of the tail. Green grass fills the foreground, and much of the background, with a couple of grey hangars in the distance, under blue-grey sky.

OY-NCM, Dornier DO-328JET-310, operated by Sun-Air of Scandinavia in British Airways colours, lining up on Runway 23 Left at Manchester Airport, 12th June 2014, as seen from one of the South Side mounds.

At one point, this was the only British Airways route from Manchester that didn’t involve London Heathrow, because BA didn’t think there was demand for flights to anywhere else.

Now, there is only the Heathrow route…
