OO-VLZ, Fokker 50, VLM, at London City Airport, 11th July 2014.

On This Day 14th September 1992.

Heavily backlit shot of a 3 propellor-engined airliner flying from left to right at a low altitude, with it's fixed tail-wheel undercarriage in place (obviously), and flaps extended from the rear of the wings, suggesting it is about to land. The fuselage is metallic grey, with a corrugated surface, and the black registration "D-AQUI" on the rear fuselage. Dramatic grey sky fill the background.

D-AQUI (fake registration, actually D-CDLH), Junkers JU-52/3m, Lufthansa, on final approach to Runway 24 at Manchester Airport, as seen from the junction of Ringway Road and Shadowmoss Road, 14th September 1992.

Bonus Photo of the Day 14th September 2025.

Almost head-on view of a twin engined jet airliner parked facing slightly to the right of the camera. The plane is largely white, with a red belly, and a thick red stripe running along the body, covering the passenger cabin windows. There are white "LTU Sud" titles on the lower forward fuselage, as well as on the red tail. The white, last 2 letters of the registration, "UR", are on the open nose-wheel doors. The plane is pretty much perfectly parked on a barred, yellow line on the concrete apron, with a blue and grey air bridge attached to the forward cabin door on the left side. There is a freight loader parked next to the open lower fuselage cargo door, with a container ready to be lifted. A yellow fuel tanker with red "Shell" titles is parked in front of the left wing, on the other side of the air bridge. A white catering truck with red "LTC" titles on the side is parked by the rear cabin doors, with it's cargo bed raised to allow access to the plane. In the background, green grass lines a runway, with more grass and trees in the distance, slowly vanishing in to haze.

D-AMUR, Boeing 767-3G5ER, LTU Sud, parked on it's gate at Dusseldorf Airport, either 1993 or 1996.
