On This Day 18th June 1993.

Low side view of a twin engined jet airliner flying from left to right at a very low altitude, with flaps extended from the front and rear of the wings, and undercarriage lowered, suggesting it is about to land. The plane is mostly white, with a pair of blue stripes running along the body and a grey belly. There are large, grey and blue "MD90" titles on the forward fuselage, with similar blue titles on the tail. There is blue text "V2500" on the white engine pods mounted on the sides of the rear fuselage, with smaller green "IAE" titles at the front of the engine. Somewhat dramatic grey sky fills the rest of the frame.

**Spoiler** - none of them ordered any, and in fact one placed a large order for A320's a few days later, transitioning away from MD83's.
