On This Day 24th February 2015.

Side view of a bare-metal finish, twin engined jet fighter aircraft, with the engines buried in the rear fuselage and a long engine intake in the nose, parked facing to the left in a museum. There is a large red, white, and blue roundel under the cockpit canopy, just aft of a white rectangle with red text "Danger keep clear of intake when engine is running". A blue information plaque is placed in front of the nosewheel, with a couple of black and white photos of the plane in flight and white text telling some facts about the plane, the only decipherable text being the header "Experimantal jet Aeroplane". A vaulted ceiling soars above the plane, layers of wooden panels and translucent glass panels supported by grey metal frames.

This was a technology demonstrator that lead to the English Electric Lightning.

Now on display at Old Sarum, which is a place I really need to visit.

Manchester Monday 24th February 2025.

Side view of a white, 3 engined jet airliner with the engines mounted on the rear of the fuselage, taxiing from left to right. There are large blue "Tarom" titles on the lower forward fuselage, and a blue tail with a white circle containing a flying blue bird in the lower right. The registration "YR-TPF" is on the centre engine intake. The plane is taxiing along a large grey taxiway, casting a strong grey shadow forward and to it's left, suggesting strong sunlight coming from low and to the right. Large grass sections separate this taxiway from other taxiways in the background, with grey buildings beyond that. A large, green, metal structure, dominates the rest of the background.

Side view of a green, high-winged, 4 engined jet airliner taxiing from left to right. The planes upper fuselage is a bright green, with a blue stripe below that, with a thicker dark green stripe covering the passenger cabin windows, with a white stripe on the lower fuselage, and a grey belly. There are dark green "Commuter" titles on the lower forward fuselage, over the white stripe, and a large white shamrock on the green tail. Grey concrete apron fills the foreground, with a large selection of luggage containers stored in a large, grass enclosed area in the background directly behind this plane. Another taxiway and another grassed area with a grey building beyond make up the rest of the frame.

Manchester Monday 3 24th February 2025.

Side view of a very large, 4 propellor-engined cargo plane with an over-sized fuselage, flying from left to right at a very low altitude with flaps deployed from the rear of the wings and undercarriage lowered, suggesting it is just about to land. The plane is in a bare metal finish, with a yellow, orange, red, and dark blue stripe running along the body just above the wings, just below where the upper fuselage balloons outwards, and black "Airbus Skylink" titles on the upper fuselage in black, the first half of that phrase partially obscured by the wing and the engines. There is a large, black number "3" on the forward face of the enlarged forward fuselage, as well as on the tail. Stormy grey sky fills the rest of the frame.

Slightly blurry side view of a white, 4 engined military jet transport aircraft with the engines mounted in pairs on the sides of the rear fuselage, moving at high speed from left to right on a wet runway, with flaps fully deployed below the wings, suggesting it is slowing down after landing. The plane has a white upper fuselage and grey lower fuselage, seperated by a jagged blue stripe covering the passenger cabin windows. There is a large red, white, and blue roundel on the lower forward fuselage, and black "Royal Air Force" titles on the upper forward fuselage. The serial "XR808" is on the side of the engine pods in black, and a large blue, white, and red fin flash is on the tail, under the large number "808". A large grassed area fills the foreground, with more grass beyond the runway leading up to a pair of black hangars with light aircraft parked outside, with bare trees beyond that, under cloudy grey skies.
