Photo of the Day 26th June 2025.
A rather weather-beaten and rusty lump of metal that has been left on grass, ostensibly to rot.

Something a bit different - a custom-built fire trainer, but unlike the big green monstrosity at Manchester Airport, this is pretty much a one off designed to replicate several small aircraft, mostly single-engined light private aircraft.

Between being left out in all weathers, and occasionally being set on fire to train the airports fire crews, this is looking a bit forlorn, and in need of a big hug.

Side view of a twin propellor-engined BizProp flying from left to right at a low altitude, with flaps extended from behind the wings, and the under-carriage lowered, suggesting it is about to land. The plane is mostly white, with a dark stripe running along the body, as well as on the engine pods, with the black registration "G-SVSS" on the lower rear fuselage. Cloudy grey skies fill the rest of the frame.

Side view of a high-winged, 4 propellor-engined airliner flying from left to right at a low altitude, with flaps extended from the rear of the wings, the undercarriage already tucked away, and the nose raised sharply, suggesting it has just taken off. The plane is mostly white, with a yellow and blue band wrapped around the rear fuselage and tail, with large, blue "Brymon" titles on the yellow part of the tail, blue "Brymon European" titles on the lower mid fuselage, and the black registration "G-BRYC" on the upper rear fuselage. Cloudy grey sky fills the rest of the frame.
