G-LYDF, Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftan, Atlantic Bridge Aviation, raising it's nose as it takes off from Runway 23 Left at Manchester Airport, 15th March 2017, as seen from one of the South Side mounds.

Note the Avro RJX prototype preserved (or left to rot, depending on your point of view) and on display behind the Concorde Hangar in the background.

On This Day 29th March 1992.

Side view of a white and black, high-winged, single propellor-engined light aircraft, parked on grass facing to the left. The plane's fuselage is mostly white, with a thick black stripe with green highlights running the length of the body. The registration "N210MP" is on the rear fuselage in white. There are small, white "Centurion" titles on the engine cowling at the front, and in black on the ends of the wings. White and blue barrels stand on the ground under the wings, tied to the undersides of the wings with rope. The plane sits in front of an olive-green, curved metal building, with a white sign reading "Brian Harbit Hangar" in the middle, directly above the tail. Grey sky fills the rest of the frame.

Bonus Photo of the Day 28th March 2025.

Side view of a silver, high-winged, twin propellor-engined light transport aircraft parked facing to the left. There is a red stripe running along the body, with red registration "G-AMLZ" in the rear fuselage, the registration also being visible under the left wing. There is a British flag on the tail. There is an orange and white traffic cone on the ground under the wing, attached to the underside of the wing by a rope. The main wheels are lifted off the ground, held by triangular metal frames. In the background, a large, brown brick building with lots of windows stretches across the whole frame, with a clock tower behind the wings rising up into the blue sky.

The hotel is actually the original terminal building, although it is no longer part of the airport.

I think the Speke Aerodrome Heritage Group may have bitten off more than they can chew with this project, all the exhibits here are in some form of decay, all look fairly miserable and sorry for themselves.
