Photo of a green, but badly corroded, Fire Training Rig, used for fire training, facing to the right

Despite how it looks, this is not some weird hybrid plane, this isn't some kind of Frankenstein's Monster cooked up for a tv show, this is a fire training rig, meant to simulate different types of planes for training for fire services.

Oddly, both the types this most closely resembles (Boeing 747 and Douglas DC-10/McDonnell Douglas MD-11) are no longer in passenger service, and haven't been seen here in years.

View from underneath of a white, twin engined jet airliner flying almost directly overhead, from the bottom to the top of the frame, and slightly to the right. The engine pods slung under the wing are bright orange, as are the supports that hold the flaps in place under the wings, and the wingtips. The tail is also orange, with white "EasyJ" titles visible. The registration "G-EZUR" is visible in black on the lower rear fuselage, and under the left wing. Blue sky fills the background.

Side view of a light blue, twin propellor-engined World War 2-era passenger airliner parked facing to the right. There is a darker blue band running around the forward fuselage, just aft of the cockpit, and another around the rear fuselage, just in front of the tail, as well as around the engine cowlings. There are large black "Star Airways Inc" titles outline in gold on the upper fuselage, and a gold "Star" logo on the tail. The registration "N3455" is on the rear fuselage in black, and the name "Ian Drury" in a dark blue cursive script on the nose. A grass bank behind the plane on the left slowly comes down to meet the ground on the right of the frame, with trees marking the airfield perimeter. Hazy grey sky fills the rest of the frame.
