Rear side view of a white, large twin engined jet airliner taxiing from left to right. There is a thick, very pale blue stripe running along the body, overlaid with green "Cathay Pacific" on the forward fuselage. There is a thick green band around the tail, with a thick, white brush stroke resembling a flying bird in the middle, a design repeated in a smaller form under the cockpit. An array of blue and white or yellow and white planes are lined up, facing in various directions in the background. Rows of trees stretch across the rear of the frame, marking the edge of the airfield, under grey skies.

Low side view of a pair of twin engined military jet fighter aircraft flying from left to right at a very ow altitude in a very close formation, the one at the rear almost perfectly hidden behind the one at the front, the undercarriage being the first thing that gives it away. The planes have their undercarriage lowered and flaps extended from the rear of the wings, suggesting that they may be coming in for landing. The planes are mostly white on top, with red undersides, and additional red stripes sweeping along the upper fuselage. There is the white serial "J-3091" on the side of the rear fuselage of the near plane, as well as a white cross at the rear base of the tail, repeated in a much larger form under the wings and centre fuselage. Pale blue sky fills the rest of the frame.

Rear view of a twin propellor-engined business aircraft parked facing directly away from the camera, with the engines mounted close to the rear fuselage at the rear of the wide wing, and large vertical wing-tips instead of a traditional tail. The plane is almost entirely white. More aircraft can be seen parked to left and right in the background. Bright sunlight from the low on the horizon on the left fills the top of the frame, and washes over everything else in the image, with lens flare that even JJ Abrams would think excessive around the edges.

Bonus Photo of The Day 2 25th September 2026.

Side view of a twin engined jet airliner, with the engines mounted on the sides of the rear fuselage, taxiing from left to right along a grey taxiway. The plane is largely white, with a dark blue stripe running along the body under the passenger cabin windows, overlaid with a lighter blue pinstripe on the upper edge, sweeping up to fill the tail. There are dark blue "Air UK" titles on the upper forward fuselage, and the black registration "G-UKFB" on the upper rear, just in front of the white engine pods. The tail is dark blue, with a diagonal light blue pinstripe running up the leading edge, with a waving half of a UK flag hanging off the rear, filling most of the rest of the tail. Grey taxiway fills the foreground, with a white, 3 engined jet airliner facing to the left and away from the camera on the left of the background, and a large, black building filling the right of the background, with patches of grey sky in the top left and top right corners.
