The front half of the tail is the same bright red, with white text "Pitts S-1S" at the top, while the rear is covered in a red and white chequerboard pattern. The wings are red, with similar but thicker white lines running from front to back, and along the width. Green grass fill the rest of the frame, blurred into a smear, with the plane casting a strong shadow on the airfield below it, suggesting the sun is fairly low down on the left of the frame.
