The tail is white, with the registration "RA-76529" at the base, and a Russian flag (equal white, blue, and red horizontal stripes) outlines in black in the middle. The wings have 2 engines suspended under neath them - the outer engine on this side is a standard jet engine, but the inner engine has been replaced with one with 8 very curved grey propellor blades. The lower half of the nose cone is extensively glazed, bulging down below the rest of the body. There is a blue and grey airport tug attached to the planes nose wheel by a long yellow pole. Green grass fills the foreground, with rows of trees in the background, under a blue-grey sky. — RA-76529, Ilyushin Il76LL, Zhukovski Research Institute but in Aeroflot colours, at Farnborough Air Show, 10th September 1994.
This plane was being used as a testbed for the D-236 propfan engine, the inner left engine having been replaced with an experimental unit.
